Some of the most beautiful houses/ apartments I have ever seen!
I still remember my first summer there.
I spent it mostly inside playing through the Metal Gear Solid series.
Time raced.
Before I knew, I had a week left of summer vacation.
I remember going to 7th grade orientation…
Try to imagine how hard it was for me to sleep that Sunday night knowing that tomorrow morning I would go to a new school, meet new people, and write a new story.
Too much happened during my time in San Jose.
So I’ll just reflect on one part of my History.
There was this girl I went to school with ( I don’t want to mention names).
This girl was quiet, shy and beautiful.
I never knew how to approach her… “
- A journal entry dated: May 30th, 2015.
This projects was not suppose to become what it is now.
This collection was created with the sole purpose of drifting off into.
But I guess during their production I found myself drifting off into places I hardly allow myself to drift off into.
Don’t get me wrong, now that I’m much older I can look back on those times and say a lot of the things I was going through were exaggerated teen tantrums.
There are, though, a few things I guess you really cant let go of be that good or bad.
In my May 30th journal entry, as continued to read into what I was going on about ( I’m not expressing myself, or explaining myself as well as I can now.)
Aside from my entry about an ex lover, there were a few things I noticed I captured really well, or at least remember well enough to this day.
I hadn’t really reached out to any of my friends I had made when I was attending school back in 2008.
I was in San Jose from 2014-2015 going to trade school (my initial move there was in 2008.)
Majority of that time I spent alone.
Often in places familiar to me from before.
One night, boarding a train, heading home.
I remember thinking to myself, looking down and only feeling the movement of the vehicle as it streaked through the city.
It was a blur.
Five years before that, 2010.
I lived with my Mom in West San Jose, some shabby apartments down the street from E-bay and some other tech companies.
I was still attending school on the South side of the city, so I would be up at 4AM getting ready to catch a train from the West side back to the South side.
I did it because I wanted to be close to my friends.
I fought like hell to be there with them.
And for a while I was.
I remember taking those train rides to and from.
It was so strange to be ripped apart from something beautiful, twice.
We’re living in a weird time in History and I think given the situation and the rate we need to adapt to certain things in the moment,
I’m okay with openly declaring that:
this collection of music is dedicated to an ex, a friend and a city I have fond memories of.
This is one of the greatest concept album I have ever had the honor of listening to. This definitely created the standard that I wish to achieve when it comes to telling a story through music. Mewt Keys
Second greatest concept album I have ever had the honor of listening to. Of course 4Mat also has a special place in my heart for his unique style of music. Mewt Keys
Man this album got me through a lot of hard times. Its deep and thoughtful but what I also enjoy the most is that if you want to dance along to it, you definitely can do that too! Mewt Keys
This duo's eclectic album swoons with melancholic synth n'guitar, and surprises with dub tinged experimental production. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 28, 2014
